Chronicle 1- We Wake Up

I "woke up" on a slab in the Mortuary of Sigil. Last thing that I remember before this was being violently killed by demonic marauders while I was researching in the library. I was not alone. There are four others on slabs that woke up with me.

A floating skull named Morte was there, and he was somewhat helpful in answering our questions. One question that was not asked, but probably should have, was why was I now long-limbed and covered in fur? I don't remember this being how I am, but it doesn't seem entirely wrong either. Very peculiar.

We find our equipment in the room with us, and gear up. Morte suggests that if the Dusties find out that we are not in the dead-book and banging around the Mortuary they will not be pleased. So we decide to leave.

I know little of my new companions other than the auto-gnome seems to be very nervous about his new situation, and just wants to return to his kip and his maker. He is clearly not a cager...

We leave the slabs and explore the Mortuary looking for a way out. Morte tells us the exit is to the east for a while and north.

We run into a zombie named Maurice who seems bent on running the incinerator! We end him and continue on.

We meet Thae, the demilich looking skul, who recites a poem for us. She gives Tengen a gold razor vine coin. She says it can be used at the Fortune's Wheel- a casino. It is famous throughout the planes. She is a demilich whose job is to write the obituaries of all of Sigil's dead. She has an appointment directly from the Lady of Pain. She tells us Morte is unique.
