As our dark ritual comes to a close, we are suddenly alerted to a presence on our balcony. Roiling green smoke enters our chamber, and obscures a figure standing on the balcony. Through the smoke, we make out a feminine humanoid, and suddenly we know that it is our goddess. We humbly approach, and kneel before her. She bids us rise and says she is pleased with our progress and knows our loyalty. She says however, that there is something we must know if we wish to continue our success. She intones, "Four doors; two go up, two go down. One leads in, up and down, if you know what to say. Do not fail in your mission, do not be distracted, for if you fail me, you will pay the price."
With that, a delicate hand appears outstretched in the green mist. The hand holds a rose, but as we watch, the flesh sloughs off from it, and the rose becomes a skull-tipped rod. Then, a red light envelopes us, and we experience intense euphoria. The light and pleasure fade, and as they do, Karamaka is gone. Shaking ourselves free of this vision, we debate what to do next.
We decide to spend some time in the keep, researching spells, shoring up defenses, and training our troops. As we are there, Valak's minions return from their attempts to capture a beast. Three of them don't return at all, and the ones that do are battered and bloody. They tell of a unusually large and ferocious tiger in the nearby woods, and offer to take The Forsaken there to kill or capture it. Seeing no reasonable way to capture the beast, we elect to leave it where it is for now until such time as we can make it a guard for our keep.
