Baby It’s Cold Outside...

First night out from Xot is fairly peaceful, as are the next couple of days of travel.

Travel on the Frosthammer is not pleasant. Odenkirk spends most of the day yelling. There are no cabins and the cargo hold is completely full of crates, so everyone is topside all the time. You sleep where you can. You hang your ass over the rail to relieve yourselves.

At dawn on the fourth day of travel (one of you guys needs to figure out what calendar day it is...), it starts getting very unseasonably cold. As the day goes on, it gets colder still. By evening time, it is so cold that the sea spray is freezing on the boat.

While at sea, the cold can almost be characterized as “extreme.”

Odenkirk is pissed about this. And when you guys start seeing small ice floes, the crew starts acting a little freaked out.

As darkness falls, there is enough ice on the sail, deck, and rigging that Odenkirk announces that you must weigh anchor to clear the ship. He says there is a small village less than an hour away, and that is where you willstop for the night.

I have to retcon one detail from last night.

After you pull the gifts and amulet from the hat, a cold wind blows and carries it away. If someone was holding the hat, the wind rips it from their hands.

As it flies away, you hear Frostarr’s jolly laugh, and remember his prophesy: “I’ll be back again someday...” :geek:
