I’m going to first track down our boy Norman, and see if he has any insight on what is going on with the blackout, and the area that is out of power.

Next I will hit up my Fixer to see if he knows who owns/operates out of the warehouse that Esoteric described. Looking to find out if there is any certain biker gang that might operate around there?

1. Norman- he has zero information. He only confirms what you already know, no one is claiming to have done it, corps seem to work together. Riots throughout the city, fear it will spread. 25k people displacedz 35k living without power.

2. Fixer- no big name corpo owns, probably a subsidiary f a subsidiary. Areas known to have a punk biker gang frequent it, along with the halloweeners from time to time. But everyone stays out of their way. (Followup ? possible). Recommends a decker do some digging.

Also gonna hit up the Talismonger contact to try and find out if there is something special about the Space Needle that would make it the epicenter for the blackout.

Maybe what it is made out of? Which corporation owns/controls it (maybe a better question for the fixer)? Does it have any significant history since the Awakening?

Culmodee doesn't have a decker contact, but Slate does. I will contact Slate and tell him what Roscoe (the fixer) said.

Talismonger: Everyone in the city and teams from outside the city have been unable to determine anything. No magical, physical, or spiritual cause of the event can be found.

You are able to determine its a storage and distribution facility from the Cybex corporation, they are a distributer of face masks for medical facilities, like oxygen masks.

Let me know further questions/ research. Plan on next session to be rp/research heavy.

Slate is going to hit up Statik, his decker contact. He's first going to ask how Statik's doing after the incident at the arcade, make sure there was no blowback on him from checking it out for us. He'll offer to pay Statik for the potential danger.

Then Slate will start asking Statik about the warehouse Esoteric told us about. We have a basic layout, but any more detailed plans would be great. Obviously, a focus on security systems would be ideal. Next, we want to know about any records he can find on the warehouse. Who owns it, what sort of product goes in and out, shipping schedules, etc. We also want to know about the area around the warehouse. What other sort of businesses are nearby. Is it a high crime area? Are there a lot of Lonestar patrols? Finally, the biker gang. Any info on the random punk gang? Are they fighting with anyone? Turf wars in the area? Also, the Halloweeners, how often they're in the area and what sort of crimes they tend to focus on.

Your unpaid research is as follows.

You learn a bit more about Cybex Corp, they have been around a long time, starting in the mid 2020's during a pandemic for ventilator supplies. Its a family owned business, 3rd generation. They are moderately profitable. One of the few non corp businesses. Were able to find who provides security.

More information available for a fee.

You are able to find the building blueprints from 2010, modified mid 2040. and general maintenance records for things like AC, heating, etc.

The building is in a fairly downtrodden area of warehouses and misc. buildings, but there is a stuffer shack across the street, and a fairly large parking lot.

There is limited police presence. There is fairly large gang activity in the area.

Culmodee is going to head on down to that Stuffer Shack across the street to case the warehouse some.

I’d like to get a look at it a few different times and days before the day that Esoteric says we need to be there. At least once in the morning and maybe a couple later evening visits. One of those evening visits being the day before our big day.

I’m looking for info about the bikers and about how busy the warehouse is.

If there are gang bangers around, and I can do so without drawing too much attention, I will try to use my new directional mic (6 rating!) and/or earbuds to try and pick up on any conversations they have. Specialization in aural perception if it comes up.

You case the location. During the days there are vans in and out. Security is well staffed and they seem to do well patroling. During the night its 2 staff on average. One on patrol one in the gatehouse. There is a chainlink fence around the facility with bollards at random locations preventing someone from driving right in.

There is definately gang activity. An orc biker gang runs the steets after dusk. They tag buildings over and over. Each day the stuffer shack staff are out scrubbing away the spraypaint. Luckily they use antigraph materials in the prefab stuffer shack templates.

At night the shack is 100% remote, and autovend machines only. Soycaf is mediocre at best. They have 10 or so 4 person tables and a large selection of grab and go items.

You can definately make out external security cameras ln the warehouse and the stuffer shack.

Using the mic you listen to daily banter. You figure out the freq they use but are unable to break the encryption. So you can tell when they transmit. The guards seem like good people, the security company is alright but they all speak highly of the Cybex owners and the bonuses and treats (food/drink) during holidays and long weekends. Seems like a nice place.

You see a total of around 20 or so people throughout the week, all with security passes for parking on thier cars/bikes.

Overwatch services.

For 1500 your fixer says he can get you basic sniper coverage for one night. On your freq, giving live updates and coordinating with you. You just have to choose direction of coverage you want they will handle the rest.
Person will have a scope and rifle, armor piercing and graphite bullets (for cameras). And binocs.

For each 500 more you are willing to pay the better person and services you will get. Your call the level of precission you need.
