Dwarvehome Mountains- traditional/spiritual home of the Dwarfs of Arre. Overrun by goblins/giantkind centuries ago. Harensuge, the Scaley Flame, the Ancient Red Dragon, lairs somewhere in the southern part of the chain. Not too many seek her out.
Gecka- very old town, that has stayed small over the years. A refuge for the wealthy of Iolore. Fishing town. Reputation as the most peaceful town on Arre. Though there is a formidable fortress that overlooks the entrance to Talon Bay…
Griffon Heights- named after the many griffons that roost in the northern part of the chain. Home of the Stormborn King. A few rocs are known to nest here. Numerous dwarven settlements and mines. The Mother of Fire nested here for two years after Thanotron was destroyed. It is believed that Draconis Regina, Autheria, Light of the North began to lair here around the same time. It is thought her lair is on a mountain top that looks over Silver Lake.
Kald- high population of elves, farmers, rangers. Used to be the ‘front’ for the servants of the Oracle. Was taken over by the High Elves of the Silverwood after the Battle of Griffon Heights. Prosperous town. The Valley Rangers are based here. They patrol the Valley of the Oracle. They are not keen on people poking around.
Kantar- large (for the Free Cities) city that serves as the primary shipping center of goods heading to the Shieldlands. Serves as a major recreation source for soldiers from the Shield Lands who are on R&R.
Llyne- farming town, split between human and dwarves. Like North Port, part of the Free Cities but not really a city. Also serves as a waypoint for dwarf goods, arms and armor manufactured in Griffon Heights on their way to the ports and then the Shieldlands.
Mausi- mid-sized port city. Does more shipping in and out of Talon Bay than to the Shieldlands. Port of call for most of the shipping from the Lallow Sea. A few trade houses are based here. Prosperous town.
Midport- a happening port city. Big arms and armor producer, lots of smitheries. Huge fishing industry too.
North Port- modest town, majority human. Considered part of the Free Cities, though not really a city. Large population of dwarves who help keep the Shieldlands supplied. Serves as a base for the Wardens.
Pran- a thriving cottage industry kind of town. Population split pretty evenly between humans, elves and halflings. Serves as the base for a loose consortium of Rangers who are called the ‘Fey Friends’ by the town folk. The FF see themselves as the conservators of the southern third of the _______________.
Pungo- fairly prosperous city, mostly human and dwarf, some gnome and halfling. Serves as the center of trade between Deeploche and the Shieldlands. Subject to Deeploche. Renown for the strawberries grown at the tops of the cliffs that overlook the Bay of Pigs.
Rankin, Izzam and Bertrand- Collectively known as “The Shieldlands.” Massive fortress cities that serve as bases for the dwarves in their perpetual war against the goblins and giants of the Dwarvehome Mountains. Rankin is the home of the legendary Dwarven paladin Coron, and the Order that bears his name. The Order of Coron stands watch over Rappan Athuk, the Dungeon of Graves, Karamaka’s place of power on Arre. They are assisted by the Order of St. Marcelius.
South Port- small port town. Large elf population. Primary point for shipping of goods to and from the Silverwood. The clippers that come from the elven shipyard here are prized as the fastest ships on the Lallow Sea.
Tabura- formerly the great fortress of the Knights Oracle. Never fell during the Oracle War, so it took some time for the Knights Oracle to fade away. Now serves as a rendezvous point for the Wardens and their associates in this region.
Vuks Grove- numerous elven settlements and enclaves. Dwarven traders from the southern chain of Griffon Heights are also found here.
