Tabura
It is said that the walls of Tabura have stood for longer than the Silverwood, and that just may be true. It served as a fortress of the Knights Oracle before the Battle of Griffon Heights. It was ancient even then.
After the Battle of Griffon Heights, the Dragons and their allies declared what was then called the Valley of the Oracle -including Tabura- to be off limits. Even after they lifted the ban, the area was shunned by most creatures.
Tabura sat empty for almost 700 years. It has only been in the last 50 years that it has started becoming inhabited again. The Valley Rangers have been using it as a shelter/rendezvous point for hundreds of years.
The fortress is in very good repair despite being empty for such a long time. It is as structurally sound as it has ever been. There is a lot of vegetation growing around Tabura, though the fortress is not overgrown.
A very small number of people live permanently in the old fort. There is a small inn and several shops. Goya’s opened up a small branch here a few years ago.
There are usually 20-30 temporary residents and assorted folks passing through at any time. There are plenty of places to squat.
Common knowledge/rumors (you decide!)-
The Wardens started using Tabura as a rendezvous well before the Dragons lifted their ban. They’ve been using it ever since.
The dungeons of Tabura have been sealed by the Dragons for some reason.
Scrying/divination type magic doesn’t work so well in and around the fortress. Even the most powerful such spells yield spotty results at best.
The Wardens aren’t the only faction that has a permanent presence in Tabura. The Walkers do too.
There have been reports of people seeing apparitions on the walls and towers that resemble warriors wearing strange armor.
The construction of Tabura is very unusual. It was not made by dwarf, human or elf. It resembles the fortress-city of Bertrand, in the Shieldlands. As for which is older, who knows?
